Tara, the driving force behind Sunfoodyoga, was influenced by the meditative arts as a young child when she lived in a spiritual community in India, called "Auroville". Her journey has led her to travel and study with many great yoga teachers and enlightened masters. Teaching yoga and sharing her healing skills is a joy and a privilege for her.
Tara Esther Kleij was born in Holland in 1964. As a child of 2 hippy parents she grew up with a lot of freedom and traveling around the world. Her mother was her first yoga teacher and since then many masters followed. Tara developed her own style where she is guided by the many approaches of yoga she has learned on her journey of a life time. Tara 's yoga is a combination of energizing the body and freeing the mind to explore its own depths. Moving into silence where the mind becomes alert and yet quiet.
Apart from all her yoga studies, Tara also studied on the Nature Healing School in Bloemendaal, Holland ( 1988-1990) and gained a lot of experience in different forms of cleansing, fasting and healing with herbs. In 1991 she became a certified Rebirther at the school in Haarlem and in 1995 she finished an intensive 4 year massage training learning Classical Massage, Rebalancing and Shiatsu. Later in Thailand she learned Thai-yoga massage and in India Ayurvedic Yoga massage. Tara is also a Reiki Master.
"Being with Tara, is believing in the essential of yoga. Her modest and cheerful energy and her vitality shows the result of the teaching. Teachings for the body, but sure also for the mind. "Beauty in all things." Her teaching is beauty. Being with her is beauty."
Vilma from Holland
Tara says: Think of your yoga practice as a time for renewal. Your sacred time for communion with the Divine. Here you can let go of any self judgements and worries and ground yourself in your inner temple. Feeling each asana as a prayer.
