Sunfood is food that is grown under the influence of direct sunlight in a natural state, free from pesticides and other chemical influences. It includes all vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, legumes and super-foods grown organically and sometimes includes also unpasteurized animal products.
Most people think that raw food consists merely of salads or finger food, that it is not satisfying or nourishing enough. We are here to show you that there are many ways of being creative and innovative with your food, without actually cooking any of it.
Eating gourmet raw food can be a sensational culinary experience that delights the palate and leaves you feeling more than satiated. It is tasty and satisfying food that leaves the body nourished, limber and light, rather than with a feeling of heaviness and tiredness commonly felt after a cooked or processed meal. With a little bit of preparation and the use of the sun, you can soak nuts, seeds and grains to activate their enzymes and transform them into delicious pates, burgers, crackers, sauces, dressings, breads, sweets and cakes.

This food is presented in a way that is aesthetically appealing and once tasted is very pleasing to the palate, using only the freshest organic ingredients. In this way sunfood is vibrant, nutritious, energising and full of vitality, providing the optimum nourishment for body, mind and spirit. You can eat in peace without guilt or shame that it is bad for the environment or for your body in any way.

Processing and cooking destroy the precious enzymes in food and therefore force the body to draw from its precious reserves to digest it. Less enzymes are available for cell regeneration and premature aging and degenerative disease sets in. Raw foods are rich in vitamins and minerals, which are otherwise almost completely destroyed by heat, oxygen, and processing. They therefore nourish the body, rather than acidifying and demineralizing it.
For many people who begin to eat raw food, their dietary choice is about transformation. Be forewarned! Raw food is a very powerful way of transforming ourselves on all levels. Many people are amazed by the emotional and spiritual transformation they have undergone since they have changed to a raw food diet. There is suddenly more energy for yoga, meditation and creativity as less is spent on cooking and digesting.
It can also help you return to the source, by buying and growing the original product and therefore living much closer to the earth. We believe in eating as locally, seasonally and sustainably as possible. We also believe there are many worthwhile additions to local and seasonal eating, like nuts and seeds, dried fruits and berries, raw-food treats like raw chocolate, natural oils, whole food supplements (as opposed to synthetic) and superfoods.
